"What about the packaging?" we hear you ask
As perfectionists by nature, finding peace in where we are now, versus where we'd like to be, has been quite the journey. Our ultimate goal is to have a packaging solution that's sustainable, 'on-brand', and perfectly aligned with our company values.
However, As a small start-up business, we've had to consider one of the most valuable business lessons we've come across, which is this: "If you wait for your business idea to be perfect, you will never get anything done."
So, here we are—starting on our journey before achieving perfection; you may find the odd recycled cardboard box for packaging here and there! But we're excited to share our packaging solution thus far and looking forward to sharing the journey with you as we progress and grow as a company .....
Unbox the magic!
For our three-packs, we use an entirely natural outer packaging solution derived from seaweed and created by Notpla. This offers a replacement for single-use packaging materials, known for their detrimental environmental impact. The best part? …. seaweed packaging is naturally biodegradable, recyclable and home-compostable, allowing for the organic conversion into nutrient-rich compost.

We collaborate with suppliers who share our values to help minimise our environmental impact, wherever possible. In line with this, we have established an exciting partnership with Câr-Y-Môr, a seaweed farm located in Pembrokeshire. They supply the superb-quality seaweed used not only in our High Tide snack bars but also in Notpla packaging - forming a circular alliance and contributing to a more positive ecological footprint.
While our long-term goal is to transition to Notpla packaging for all our outer boxes, currently, we only use it for our packs of three bars. Please place the boxes in your paper recycling.
What about the inner packaging wrap?
Our pouch wrapping is made of environmentally friendly paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®) organisation for sustainable forestry. The inner film of the pouch is composed of bio-plastic, derived from renewable raw materials such as sugar cane or corn starch.

Currently, please dispose of the pouch in your general waste, as industrial composting is not available in many locations.
